Junior Ornithologists (Bird Scientists)

Event Summary

Participants will learn all about ornithology, the study of birds! Ornithology can be a great STEM career choice and provide a lifelong interest in citizen science and the outdoors. During this program, kids will go on a birding hike with naturalists to observe birds in their natural habitat, discover bird anatomy and physiology, create their own field journal and even get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures by participating in bird banding with field experts Dr. Neil Bernstein and Rob Bradley from the University of Iowa. This is a drop-off program– parents and guardians do not need to attend this camp with their children.
