Fishing Rod Building Course

Event Summary

Build a fishing rod to your specifications!  A fishing rod building class will be held on February 17, 19 and 24 (Tues. - Thurs. - Tues.)  from 6-9 p.m. at Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center. Custom rod builder Chuck Ungs will lead participants through the process of building a Rainshadow spinning rod. When finished with this series of classes, you will have the knowledge to move on to other rod-building projects. Cost depends on the model of fishing rod blank and options selected. The registration fee of $10 is to hold a spot in the classes.    An additional check will be needed to cover the course and basic materials ($90 plus cost for chosen components), the rod blank and any additional components will add to the final cost.  Call Chuck at 319-892-6485 to discuss the best blank to suit your needs and to determine the final class cost. Registration deadline is noon on January 7, 2026.
