This non-electric, tent-only area is perfect for families and small groups of 20 or less.  This group campsite is reservable or available on a first come first serve basis if not reserved. Several large trees provide shade for this area located near the Des Moines River. The campground has picnic tables and communal fire ring and grill.

 

Sites may be reserved up to one-year in advance and must be made prior to setting up campsite on the date of reservation.

We have a limited refund policy; however, if you need to change your reservation you have one opportunity to reschedule. Details regarding the advance notification requirement, change and cancellation fees can be found in the Facility Contract accepted at time of booking.

Fees

Camping rate: $60/per night 

Capacity: maximum number of people allowed to camp at site is 20 people.

Reservations may be made up to ONE YEAR to date in advance.

Minimum stay required for advance reservations:  

           Weekdays - 1 night minimum; 

Weekends - 2 night minimum;

           Holiday weekends - 3 night minimum

Hours of Operation & Seasons

Summer Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Winter Hours: Sunrise to sunset  

Upon entering park after hours, vehicle may be stopped by ranger requesting their campsite number and name of the party registered to the site.

April 1 through November 30

·         Reservations are required for all sites.

·         Water and modern restroom/shower facilities are guaranteed to be open 4/15-10/15. These facilities may open earlier and stay open later depending on weather conditions.  

  

Closures

December 1 through March 31

·         Reservations are required. Shower house is closed.

·         Only privative sites are available at this time and must be reserved via MyCountyParks.

 

In the case of inclement weather (ice/severe snow), please contact the ranger at 515-250-1031 for status/gate closure updates prior to booking.
