Wildlings: Rockin' Reptiles

Students age 3 to 5 are invited to join us for Wildlings: Rockin' Reptiles on Monday, August 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hitchcock Nature Center. Why do snakes stick out their tongues? How do snakes move without legs? What other reptiles make Iowa their home? Join us for this hands on camp & find out! Campers will get to meet a local snake & learn all about reptile adaptations through hands-on activities.

Wildlings Camp is designed for unaccompanied campers age 3 to 5 who have not attended Kindergarten. Camps will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. August 2nd through 6th.Cost is $15.00 per camper per day and includes park admission and all program materials. Online pre-registration is required as space is limited.

Campers will need to provide a sack lunch for each day of camp. We also request campers bring a refillable water bottle, sunblock & insect repellent also recommended are a hat, sunglasses, long pants & closed-toe shoes.      

Due to COVID-19 the format of this program may be adjusted. Please check back for updates.     

Please note, camps may be attended by students in the listed grades only. No additional students or parents please.  

Cancellation Policy
Due to the material needs of each camp, we observe the following cancellation policy.  

  • 14 Days (or More) Notice - 50% Refund
  • 13 to 8 Days Notice - 25% Refund
  • 7 Days or Less Notice - 0% Refund

To cancel your camp registration please call 712-545-3283 extension 1189 or email environmentaleducation@pottcounty-ia.gov.

*Camps with less than 10 registered campers may be canceled at the discretion of Pottawattamie Conservation. Camps canceled by Pottawattamie Conservation will be refunded 100%.

About 2021 Summer Nature Camps
Join us for a summer of fun during Pottawattamie Conservation's 2021 Summer Nature Camps! Camps are offered for youth Pre-K through 9th Grade with a focus on fostering an understanding & appreciation of Iowa's unique environment. Campers will experience traditional summer camp games, outdoor adventures, & skill-building activities during these immersive, hands-on camps.
