Public Input Meeting on County Parks Tree Inventory and Management Plan

Event Summary
Sioux County Conservation, in conjunction with Prairie Creek Environmental, LLC, will host a public input meeting on Wednesday. The meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to learn about and provide input on the upcoming Sioux County Parks Tree Inventory and Management Plan, an urban forestry initiative focused on improving the long-term health, safety, diversity, and management of trees within Sioux County parks.
The project will focus on Oak Grove State Park, Sandy Hollow, and the Big Sioux Recreation Area. Sioux County Conservation, working with Prairie Creek Environmental, will complete a formal tree inventory and develop a management plan to identify tree health and safety concerns, establish maintenance priorities, improve species diversity, and guide future tree planting and management decisions.The inventory and management plan will provide Sioux County Conservation with a long-term framework for maintaining a healthy, safe, and resilient tree canopy within County parks.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and provide input regarding the project and future management of these important tree resources. No preregistration required.
