Prairie Seed Harvest with Project Wingspan

Event Summary

Story County Conservation is teaming up with Pollinator Partnership’s Project Wingspan and Prairie Rivers of Iowa to collect native seed at Jennett Heritage Area on October 14th from 4:00-6:00 pm.

The seed collected at this volunteer event will go to Prairie Rivers of Iowa’s seed library and  Project Wingspan to restore and enhance pollinator habitats throughout Iowa.

No experience necessary! Training will be provided on-site. Participants will learn how to identify target plants, collect seed, and about the important projects they are supporting!   

Long pants and sturdy shoes are recommended. Dress for the weather and bring plenty of water.
