Paint a Holiday Themed Birdhouse Gourd

Event Summary

Birdhouse gourds are not only fun ornaments to add around your home and garden, but can also provide great nesting homes for native birds. Come and decorate your own birdhouse gourd.  We will have gourds cut and ready for you to pick out. You will sand, “gut” and then decorate your gourds. Some Gourds may need to be left behind to dry and lacquer and can be picked up the following week.

This program is best for ages 6 and over; children must be accompanied by their adult.

Cost is $7/gourd. Meet in the conservation center, and please come wearing clothes you don’t mind getting paint on. Precut gourds, paint, brushes, and hot cocoa  all be be provided. 

mycountyparks registration: Each participant wanting to have their own gourd must be registered. “Helpers” do not need to register.
