Step into a kaleidoscope of color and wonder as we explore the world of monarch butterflies! In this program, Johlas-Szalkoeski, Marion County  naturalist,  will share highlights from her travels to Mexico’s mountainous regions, where millions of butterflies gather each winter.  

We’ll dive into the monarchs’ incredible migration, their fascinating life cycle, and the rich local culture of the area. From the stunning landscapes to the vibrant communities, Karen will take you through the unforgettable experiences she encountered along the way. Plus, you’ll receive tips on how to make this a must-see travel destination for your next adventure.  

You’ll also discover simple, meaningful actions you can take to protect these majestic butterflies—and other vital pollinators—in your own backyard.
