Volunteer with Story County Conservation at Prairie Valley Preserve, Story County Conservation's newest "park" located just west of Gilbert, to hand harvest prairie seed! We'll show you what to collect and provide information about the plants around you as you work.  This family-friendly seed harvest is a great opportunity to learn more about the prairie, unplug, and lend a helping hand. toward future prairie establishment efforts in Story County. No prior plant knowledge necessary!
