The shelter at Cedar Park overlooks the 1.5 acre pond. It is an enclosed shelter centrally located within the park. There is a walking trail with footbridges and a disc golf course located near the shelter. The cost to reserve the shelter is $20.


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 06:00 AM and check-out is before 10:00 PM.

Location Cedar Park is located approximately 5 miles east of Creston and 7 miles west of Afton.


Fees

The cost to rent this shelter is $20 per day. There are no half day rates.

Union County

                                  Notice to Cabin Users and Campers

Three Mile Lake is currently (on 6/20/25) 10’ low due to the lake renovation project that occurred last year.  The project has been complete since January 2025 but with the sparse precipitation this spring and summer the lake has remained low. 

The Union County Conservation Board is located in south-central Iowa and his home to the 3350-acre Three Mile Lake Recreation Area. The Union County Conservation Board manages a total of 9 parks, recreation, and wildlife areas encompassing 3,790 acres about the county. Cabin reservation are made through this website by going to the FACILITIES tab to the left.  To make a cabin reservation for January or February, call our office at 641-347-5100.
