Wilderness Survival 101


Event Summary

Join survival expert Charlie Freeman for an exciting and informative workshop on basic wilderness survival:What would you do on a short day hike, canoe trip, or a day out riding your ATV when something goes wrong? You get lost or turned around, the weather changes quickly, and you can't get back to your car. You have your cell phone but forgot to charge it again. This program is designed to give you some basic information with hands-on practice of your survival skills. This curriculum is not designed to make you an expert. It gives you a place to start.The program covers these areas:What do I need to do before I venture out? What equipment do I need to buy and why? Basic health and safety needs, your need for water, shelter building, fire starting and common-sense first aid. Part of the program is lecture and some hands-on.Door prizes may be included.
