Nestled in the heart of Otter Creek Park, our shelter provides an ideal setting for any occasion. Whether it's a family reunion, graduation, or a simple outdoor gathering, you'll find a welcoming space complete with picnic tables, ADA accessibility, and offers direct access to the parks scenic trails. 


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 08:00 AM and check-out is before 10:30 PM.

Location Otter Creek park is located seven miles south of Indianola. Travel 4 miles south on Hwy 65/69. Follow Highway 65 at the split. From there look for the Otter Creek sign. Turn south on 150th then west on Quebec to the park. The park is on the south side of the road.

Otter Creek Park, an 80-acre natural gem, has been a Warren County Conservation Board (WCCB) treasure since its acquisition in 1976. This diverse park offers a delightful blend of recreation and education, featuring a shady picnic area with tables and grills, winding trails through native oak and shagbark hickory forests. Visitors can also explore a prairie restoration area and a small pond teeming with aquatic life, including insects and frogs. The picnic shelter is available for reservation by calling the WCCB office at (515) 961-6169.

Fees

Rental of the Otter Creek shelter is free, but we suggest a donation of $100.00 to help us maintain the shelter and the surrounding park.
