River Clean Up 2026

Event Summary
The group will enjoy time paddling on the river while helping make a difference on the Des Moines River. Participants will get muddy and wet picking up trash from the river and hauling it out by canoe.
The event is free and open to the public. A limited number of canoes are available. You are also welcome to bring your own canoe. Sign up is available for groups and individuals. If registering a group, please put in the comments of the registration how many participants you are planning to have, and if you need canoes. Call the Webster County Conservation Office at (515) 576-4258 for questions.
What To Bring: Sunscreen, water, bug spray, shovel, gloves, hat, and sunglasses.
Meet at Henderson Landing. From there, you will be shuttled to our starting point and then we will travel approx. five miles on the Des Moines River, and then will end back at the Henderson Landing. Energy snacks and water will be provided before the trip. A complementary lunch will be provided after as a thank you.
