Museum Staff

The American Gothic House Center (AGHC), a department under the Wapello County Conservation Department, now seeks a motivated, out-going person with good communication skills, a desire to serve with diverse groups of people (including kids), and a passion for community stewardship. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to work in a museum attached to a historical property.

This position includes but is not limited to greetings guests to the AGHC and it's services including the exhibit gallery, video room, and gift shop cash register operations along with re-stocking of merchandise. Costume and/or photo assistance to museum guests may be necessary. 

Impromptu group tours and weekend staffing will be part of the duties, and possibly need to work on holidays or holiday weekends. Regular hours will include Thursdays (10-2 pm), Fridays (10-4 pm), Saturdays (10-4 pm), and Sundays (1-4 pm).
