Primary
Responsibilities:
-
Research, plan and implement innovative, experiential
learning activities for targeted age groups.
- Summer camp programs: Most summer camps are day-long or
multiple day camps. Camps have contemporary themes to be attractive
to youth and help learn how science is a part of their everyday
lives. Youth have the opportunity to be engaged and independent, yet
participate with others in team activities.

Schools, youth groups, child care centers, youth-serving
non-profits, and public programs.
- Meet conservation’s educational goals of helping youth.

Increase their knowledge of science topics, allowing them to
advance in grade level and develop a curiosity of the natural world.

Learn to value a healthy natural environment and how the
natural world can co-exist with the build world without being
harmed.

Participate in natural resource management activities and
hands on learning that will encourage them to become life-long stewards of
the land.
- Organize recreational activities that encourage youth to
become active and enjoy being outdoors. Youth will learn to master
life-long skills such as kayaking, archery, and camping.
- Partner with other natural resource organizations to share
information, current research, and educational resources.
Additional
Responsibilities:

Provide assistance and advise conservation Naturalist on
program development.
- Assist in the management of the HRNC office.
- Assist in park management maintenance tasks.
- Participate in county staff meetings, planning sessions and
any required trainings.
Length
of service/wage:
Service
will be from May to August, hours will vary and will include some weekends and
non-standard hours (A minimum of 450 hours required) starting date is flexible
to meet needs of member and program schedule of BHCC. Members will
receive a living stipend of $4235 as well as an educational award of $1678.57 subject to successful completion of the program.
