WCCB has 4 full-time and 1 part-time staff under the Director, manages 23 parks and wildlife areas, three regional bike trails, a nature center under restoration, and three campgrounds.
Benefits include: Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System (IPERS). The County will pay the health insurance premium, except for $1/month for each eligible regular full-time employee toward a single and employee/child(ren). The County will contribute the cost of an employee/child(ren) plan to the employee/spouse and family plans. The employee will pay the balance of the premium for the employee/spouse and family plans. The current carrier is Wellmark. Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are available as well. The County will pay the life insurance premium for each eligible regular full-time employee toward a single policy worth $20,000. Voluntary life insurance at the expense of the employee deducted through payroll. Our present carrier is Reliance Standard. The County will pay the premium for each eligible regular full-time employee toward a single policy worth $5,000. Voluntary critical illness insurance at the expense of the employee deducted through payroll. The present carrier is Reliance Standard. The County also offers optical, life, dental insurance, AFLAC, Flex benefit cafeteria plan, and Christmas Club payroll deductions . There are ten paid holidays each year. Vacation is calculated from the employment anniversary date, accruing 10 days the first year.
Qualifications
Minimum four-year degree, with major course work in natural resources, outdoor recreation, public administration, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the conservation field is preferred.
