Description
Bremer County Roadside Vegetation Management is accepting applications for the Roadside Vegetation Manager position. The Roadside Vegetation Manager is responsible for all aspect of managing roadside vegetation and will administer, develop, plan, and oversee a program of vegetative habitat management that seeks to control unwanted vegetation and promote desirable vegetation on Bremer County right-of-way. The Roadside Vegetation Manager performs related duties as assigned by the Board of Supervisors in consultation and cooperation with the County Engineer and County Conservation Director. The Roadside Vegetation Manager serves as Bremer County Weed Commissioner and addresses the provisions of Section 314 of the Code of Iowa, the Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management (IRVM) Technical Manual and Section 317, the Noxious Weed Law.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum AA/AAS, prefer BA/BS in Biology, Botany or related natural science degree or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Must maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with air brake (preferred) and tanker endorsement. Possess or acquire a Category 6 Right-of-Way and category 1A Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Applicators License and Wild Land Fire Training Certification within 6 months of hire (or within reason) as approved by the Board of Supervisors.
