Spring Lake


Purchased in 1971 from the T.B. Turner Estate. The area got it's name from the original 2 acre pond and spring located on the property. It was once the home of Spring Lake Pottery owned by the Turners who also constructed a small park on the grounds. Designed to provide recreation facilities and wildlife education for Adams County residents.

Southwest side of Corning along Hwy 148 just north of Hwy 34.

Features

Spring Lake is home to many birds; especially geese who feel protected during nesting on the unique center island. 27 acres with a natural spring in the flood plain of the East Nodaway River. Many residents hunt for mushrooms in the wooded area.
The park has two softball fields that were funded by the Adams County Softball Association in the early 80's. The City of Corning has managed this area since 1995. To reserve the softball fields call the Corning City Clerk office at 641-322-4230 Mon- Fri
