Harrison County Conservation Board is located in the beautiful Loess Hills of western Iowa! There are 19 park and wildlife areas with over 1,800 acres for outdoor recreation like camping, fishing, hunting, hiking, wildlife watching, picnicking and boating. We’re just an hour from Omaha and surrounding attractions including the Harrison County Historical Village and Iowa Welcome Center, Loess Hills State Forest/Brent S. Olson Memorial Visitor Center, and DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge. There’s something for everyone!

 

VISIT THE WILLOW LAKE NATURE CENTER!

 

The Willow Lake Nature Center opened to the public September 1st, 2023, at the Willow Lake Recreation Area near Woodbine. Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 p.m. and the following Sundays: April 12th and 26th, May 3rd, 10th, and 17th, 12-4 pm. The exhibit hall features interactive displays about watersheds, water, wildlife, and habitats-great for all ages! There is no entrance fee.

 

ATTENTION: AS OF SEPTEMBER 1st, 2023, HUNTING IS NO LONGER ALLOWED AT THE WILLOW LAKE RECREATION AREA.
