Three Rivers Trail


The Three Rivers Trail spans 3 different counties; Pocahontas, Humboldt, and Wright running east and west. Humboldt country maintains roughly 25 miles of trail from Delaware Ave to York avenue, and 6 miles of trail running north and south between Humboldt and Dakota City. It is a crushed rock trail offering excellent opportunity for horse back riding, walking, biking, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, wildlife viewing and much more.

Parking in Humboldt County can be found at the following locations;

Rutland IA, south of the elevator along trail

DC Park, Dakota City IA, north end of 5th street north

Thor IA, east side of elevator along trail.

The Three Rivers Trail is open year round in Humboldt County, closures will be marked at the trail head with a "TRAIL CLOSED" sign.
