  Discover the Wonders of Prairie Ecology at the Hamilton Tapken Prairie Wildflower Walk! Hamilton Tapken Prairie, located in Jones County 16639 60th Ave Onslow Iowa, is home to one of the most unique and diverse ecosystems in the Midwest - the remnant prairies. And on May 10, you're invited to explore one of these stunning landscapes. From 10 am to 12 pm, join Dr. Ray Hamilton, county naturalists, and the Iowa Prairie Network on a journey through the breathtaking beauty of the remnant prairie. During the walk, you'll learn about the this unique ecosystem, as well as the role that prairies play in our world. So whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just looking for a fun and educational outdoor experience, the Hamilton Tapken Prairie Wildflower Walk is an event not to be missed. Participants should come prepared to hike, wear long pants, and bring a water bottle. Participants are welcome to meet at the Hurstville Interpretive Center the morning of May 10th at 9:15 am to follow County Conservation staff out to Hamilton Paken Prairie.
