Curious Flower Art

Hurstville Interpretive Center, Jackson County

Sunday, June 2, 2024

Create Curious Flower Art with Green Iowa AmeriCorps member Shelby Davison at the Hurstville Interpretive Center on Sunday, June 2 at 2:00 PM!

Together we will wander the trails to gather various blooming flowers and leaves. Learn about sustainable harvest, while gathering dandelions to make curious dandelion clocks. As well as picking through what the prairie has to offer to make curious hammer pounded flower art.

Participants will use jars and wire to create their Dandelion Clocks and cotton fabric with a hammer to create their Flower Art. Materials (jars and white cotton handkerchiefs) will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring their own jars - with lid - and white cotton fabric; ie. white cotton shirt, white cotton tote bag, etc. to create their artwork!

This program is free and open to the public. Family friendly event. Registration is required 48 hours in advance.
