Four Hikes, Four Parks, One Adventure

Event Summary

This is a family friendly, come and go event.  "Four Hikes, Four Parks, One Adventure" takes hikers through four local parks.  Oak Grove Park near Hawarden Iowa; Newton Hills Park near Canton South Dakota; Union Grove State Park near Beresford South Dakota; and Adam's Homestead near McCook Lake South Dakota.  Participants may starts as early as 8 am and will visit the parks on their own schedules on Saturday, May 2.  Each park will have a check in point (Oak Grove's check in point will be at the Administration Office), and map.  A clue card will be found on the trail in each park, which the hiker must write down to present at the conclusion of the day.  Hikers may visit parks in any order, but must be done hiking and meet at Adam's Homestead at 5 pm.  Prizes will be awarded, all children will receive a prize.  No cost for the event.  A total of 9.5 miles of trails have been marked out for this event.   For more information call Newton Hills park 605-987-2263 or contact Sunday Ford 712-552-3057.
