Event Summary

Let’s go for a bear hunt! A teddy bear hunt that is. Starting October 21st hunters will be able to pick up a ‘hunting license’ from the Hurstville Center or from our website with clues and maps on where to go to find the bears. Once you find the bears, marked with a zip-tied label, participants will be asked to take a selfie with the bear and put it back for the next person to find. Participation prizes will be available! 

 

Jackson County Conservation Bear Hunt –  October 21 -31st, 2020  

Good luck with your Bear Hunt! Hidden on Jackson County Conservation areas are 15 stuffed bears for you to find and take a selfie with. Please be sure to place the bear back where you found it so the next hunter can be as successful as you! Between November 1-5th, be sure to send your photos to Jen@JacksonCCB.com to be entered into a drawing for prizes. Participants will get one entry for finding 5 or fewer bears, 2 entries for 6-10 bears and 3 entries for 11+ bears.

1 Prairie Creek Recreation Area –This bear wants to be as close to south of the border as he can but you better call Lassie!

2 Prairie Creek Recreation Area – I don’t think the Billie Goats Gruff need to be afraid of this little bear.

3 Hurstville –Hope this little guy brought his binoculars to catch the fall migration. Bird Blind – teddy grahams bear

4 Baldwin Marsh – Could this bear be the next Moses or just saying thanks?

5 Millrock School- Hope he’s got some soft leaves, this bear means business.

6 Big Mill Homestead – I wonder if he’s waiting on supper or watching the sunset?

7 Pine Valley – To bad he’s not a polar bear, he’s stating northward and just keeps on going.

8 Buzzard Ridge – Bring this guy some marshmallows! Or maybe just a life jacket.

9 Royertown Access – This bear could be hired by USGS for tracking water levels.

10 Iron Bridge Access – Don’t worry, he’ll keep your car safe while you paddle.

11 Hwy 52 Access – He know that dead ends don’t mean the end of adventure.

12 White water canyon – This guys is about 85 years too late to keep an eye on the CCC crew.

13 John Henry Weber Park- He’s got a picnic spot picked out just for you!

14 Driscolls Island- Good thing this bear won’t have to fight the pelicans for a nesting spot.

15 Papke – True to his roots, this bear wants to fish!
