Jefferson County Nature Center

Overview

The Nature Center and Office in Jefferson County Park are the headquarters for Jefferson County Conservation. Constructed in 1981, the Nature Center is used for a variety of public programs and school groups.

On display are a Native American artifact collection, Iowa mammals fur collection, a 150-gallon fish aquarium, and a turtle tank. It is not uncommon for the Nature Center to host a classroom of students or summer camp so please plan your trip accordingly. The Nature Center is typically open from 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. We recommend calling the Nature Center at (641)-472-4421 before your visit to ensure the center will be open.
