Step into the magic of the season at Woodland Wonderland, a holiday celebration at Hartman Reserve Nature Center! ✨ Join us for an evening full of winter cheer, nature, and family fun. During your visit, you’ll enjoy:

🕯️ A special reading of “Grandmother Winter” by Phyllis Root

❄️ A snowflake ornament craft for kids

🍪 Cookies and hot chocolate provided by the Friends of Hartman Reserve

🐐 Friendly goats from Hickory Hills to pet and feed inside the Buckles Building

🎅 A visit with Santa Claus

🎁 Encounters with holiday characters like the Grinch and Olaf, accompanied by ambassador animals from Hartman

🔥 A cozy campfire outside, with beautiful carols from the Cedar Falls High School Jazz Choir

🕰️ Please note: There are multiple time slots each evening — make sure you register for the correct one when signing up!

Bring your family, your holiday spirit, and a sense of wonder as Hartman transforms into a festive woodland filled with light, laughter, and nature’s magic. 🌟

Cost: $7.00 One and under are free

Policies: All registrations must be done online and no walk-ins will be accepted. If you need assistance in registering for programs online, please call the nature center 319-277-2187 and we will help you.Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.

Accessibility: For this event, participants will be required to park in the upper parking lot, which is approximately 220 yards from the Nature Center and requires the ability to walk on an incline/decline. The sidewalk is paved. Anyone with mobility issues is encouraged to speak with our staff at the beginning of the sidewalk so that accommodations can be made. The Nature Center has a functioning elevator and an all-gendered restroom. We do not have wheelchairs or booster seats available. All outdoor exhibits are accessible by a paved sidewalk. Be advised that there will be flashing lights and a larger crowd of people in each timeslot.
