Prairie Walks and Talks

Event Summary

Buchanan County Conservation Board has many unique remnant prairies. These range from dry sand prairies to water saturated fens. Join Conservation Director Ben Bonar in exploring these sites and learn how to identify prairie plants along the way! Participants can expect to see numerous prairie plants in bloom during this walk including Fringed Gentian, New England Aster and Marsh Betony. A short presentation will be provided on the history of the fen.
