Rowley Fen Prairie Walk

Event Summary

Do you like wet prairies? What about native plants within a wet prairie? Have you ever experienced a fen? Now's your chance! On Tuesday, September 8th at 6 PM join Buchanan County Conservation and the Iowa Prairie Network on a prairie walk through Rowley Fen. The fen is a very unique natural wetland area. One of two fens managed by Buchanan County, this area is full of plants, wildlife, and birds for nature enthusiasts to enjoy.

Join us as we learn about the history, ecology, and hopefully make new discoveries within the fen. 

We hope you can join us as we celebrate Iowa Prairie Heritage Week!

Participants come dressed for the conditions, wear long pants, and bring a bottle of water. 

Please wear shoes that you don't mind getting wet!!!
