Junior Naturalist Camp - Level 3

Event Summary

To attend this camp, your child must be at least 10 and must have completed both Junior Naturalist Levels 1 and 2 in previous summers.

We will spend three days working on old skills and learning new ones. This camp will include some flintknapping, target shooting and an overnight canoe adventure - 2 days on the river and one night camping. Be sure to mark your calendars for the next level in the Junior Naturalist camp series. Meeting spots and camping area details will be provided with the camp letter sent by e-mail in May.

Any student aged 10 plus that has attended both level 1 and 2 in the Butler County junior naturalist camp series are welcome to attend.

Campers will need to bring a lunch and refillable water bottle the first two days. One dinner, one breakfast and one lunch will be provided on the overnight as well as snacks and all other camp materials for only $50 per child.

Registration is required online only, and space is limited so register early. Camp forms must be downloaded from the camp description page, filled out and returned via e-mail to awittrock@butlercounty.iowa.gov within two weeks of receiving your registration confirmation.

We will begin taking registrations March 2, 2026. If you are a paid member of "The Friends of Butler County Conservation," you will receive a code for $5 off registration.

You can register online only. And don't forget to fill out and return those forms.
