The Culver's Root shelter is located in Shell Rock Recreation Area campground.

Shelter is a 20' x 65' open shelter with picnic tables and a stone fireplace.

This is the perfect location for a family get-together, graduation party or other group gathering.

This shelter has electricity, a double-sided fireplace, and picnic tables.


Check-In / Out Availability Check-in is after 08:00 AM and check-out is before 10:30 PM.

Location The Shell Rock Recreation Area is accessed from turning off of State Highway 3 onto 220th Street, then immediately left on Willow Avenue.  Willow Avenue will turn into West Main Street and the park will be on the north side of the road.

Fees

The rental fee for Culver's Root Shelter is $30 per day


Hours of Operation & Seasons

Butler County Shelters and Campgrounds are open for camping May 1 through October 15 depending on weather conditions.

Shelters and Campgrounds may open before May 1 and remain open after October 15 given favorable ground and weather conditions. Showers, restrooms and running water may also be turned on later than May 1 or before October 15 to keep pipes from freezing.

Shelter is available 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM


Permits

Persons bringing kegged alcoholic beverages into Butler County Parks must obtain a permit and pay a damage deposit with the Butler County Conservation Board.
