    • I am 21 years of age or older.
    • ALCOHOL USE. No person or group shall bring, use, have in their possession on any area, beer in a keg, or any other container larger than 40 ounces without first obtaining a special use permit from the Director or his authorized representative. The request for the special use permit shall be made in writing at least two weeks prior to the date of the activity.

    Rental Contract Agreement

    By your agreement with these terms and conditions, you represent that you are 21 years of age or older and that you are authorized to make the reservation on behalf of the group you have listed. You further agree to assume full responsibility for the acts, negligence or omissions of the members of your group while utilizing said facilities. Additionally, you agree that you have read and understand the CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICIES concerning this reservation, and have also read and understand the FACILITY CONTRACT information You are reserving a facility in a Clinton County park. ALL CLINTON COUNTY RULES AND REGULATIONS AND STATE LAWS ARE ENFORCED. Contact the Park Ranger listed on your reservation confirmation email if you have any questions about park rules, policies or special requests. FAILURE TO CLEAN UP THE FACILITY OR SURROUNDING AREA AS OUTLINED, OR FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH PARK RULES OR STATE LAWS MAY RESULT IN ENFORCEMENT ACTION. Clinton County Conservation may take any legal action necessary to recover damages to county property.

    CHECK-IN TIME:       
    Cabins- After 3:00 PM on the day of arrival     

    CHECK-OUT TIME:
    Cabins - Before 1:00 PM on day of departure

    CLEAN-UP
    You are required to cleanup the facility and grounds and return them to the condition you received them. Plan to have your facility cleaned and people departed prior to your scheduled checkout time. Clean-up instructions are posted in the cabin.

    VISITORS
    All visitors (other than registered overnight campers) must depart the area by 10:00 PM, park closing time.

    SMOKING
    Clinton County is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings.

    PARKING
    Parking is confined to designated parking areas. If you anticipate more vehicles than spaces provided, please contact the Park Supervisor in advance. No parking or driving off roadways. 

    Cancellation Policy

     Please consider this policy prior to purchasing your facility reservation.

    SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL A RESERVATION, YOU WILL FORFEIT 100% OF ALL RESERVATION FEES PAID.

    Youth Group Rules

    Organized Youth Groups such as Boy and Girl Scouts, Church groups, 4-H clubs, etc. may obtain a discounted price on facility rental by phoning the Conservation Office at (563) 847-7202. Do Not make an online reservation before phoning our office to verify your discount. If you choose to make your reservation online, you will pay the full rate.

    Refund Policy

    Please understand once your reservation is booked, you prohibit other people from reserving the facility - they therefore go elsewhere to locate a facility for that date. We will observe a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee policy with the following exceptions:

    • Accident, serious injury or death of an immediate family member
    • Travel conditions where a substantial risk is required in order to travel such as a winter storm where a travel advisory has been issued
    • We are unable to provide your facility (or like facility) in operable condition for the date of your event
    ALL cancellations or requests for refunds cannot be done online and must be made by calling the Conservation Office at (563) 847-7202.

    DATE CHANGES
    All date changes must be made by calling the Conservation Office at (563) 847-7202. Recognize that we must first administratively cancel your existing online reservation, and then create a second reservation for the new date. An Administrative Fee of $25 will be assessed to complete this transaction. Please consider this procedure prior to making your initial reservation.

    Tucked away in the serene "Back Valley," the Bunkhouse offers a secluded retreat, requiring a 1/4-mile hike from the main trailhead and parking area. Surrounded by nature, this rustic hideaway is perfect for those looking to disconnect and recharge, whether for a weekend or an extended stay.

    Inside, you’ll find the essentials for a comfortable visit: heating and air conditioning, a small refrigerator, hotplate, toaster, and coffee pot. You must supply your own utensils and cookware. A limited supply of firewood is included, with additional bundles available for purchase in the campground (seasonally or by request).

    Please note, water must be carried in; seasonal hydrants are available in the main campground and Nature Center (April 15th to October 15th).

    Sleeping accommodations include three bunked cots (sleeps 6). Additional sleeping gear (mattresses, cots, sleeping bags) may be packed in for larger groups. Guests must supply their own bedding. Up to two (2) additional tents may be placed in the immediate area around the bunkhouse and latrine.

    A nearby pit latrine serves the Bunkhouse. Guests also have access to the modern, temperature-controlled shower facility located in the Nature Center (year-round) and the campground (seasonally). Enjoy nearby hiking trails, an observation tower, a swinging bridge, and excellent opportunities for cross-country skiing in the winter months.

    Fees

    A two-night minimum is required. Holiday weekends require a 3-night stay. Reservations must be made 6 days in advance.

    The rental cost for this facility is $50/night Monday - Thursday, $60/night Friday - Sunday, payable by Visa or Mastercard.

    We are unfortunately unable to accept Discover.


    Hours of Operation & Seasons

    The bunkhouse is reservable year-round.

    Winter Use (November to April)

    The Nature Center restroom facility is only open to registered guests during the winter months. The access code you select upon reservation will allow you entry to both the shower facility and bunkhouse. A pit latrine is also located near the bunkhouse. Outdoor water hydrants may be unavailable, so plan your stay accordingly.
