Little River Primitive Day

Event Summary

Join us for primitive tool demonstrations, FREE activities, and a chili cookoff! Come and go between 11:00am and 3:00pm to learn from experts and ask any questions you may have. Demonstrations/activities include:

• Flintknapping - see stone arrowheads made.
• Deer Antler Buttons - use a tool to make your own button.
• Stone Axe, Grinding Bowl, and Nutting Stone demonstrations.
• Primitive Games - Atl Atls & Chunky Stone.
• Go on an arrowhead search around the Nature Center!

There will also be a chili cookoff during this event. There is no fee to enter your chili in the cookoff, but pre-registration is REQUIRED (email Kayla to register). A prize will be awarded to the crowd favorite chili. During the event, participants can pay $5 to try every chili and vote for their favorite. Once voting ends, we will be serving the rest of the chili until it's gone!

Chili Cookoff Schedule:

11:00am Drop off chili at Savanna Hills Learning Center.

11:30am-12:30pm Tasting/Voting of chili by participants - winner of crowd favorite will receive a prize!

12:30pm Serving chili until gone!
