Midway River Access is located along the Cedar River on Vista Avenue, approximately halfway between Charles City and Nashua. Recent improvements have made the site more accessible for canoeists, kayakers, anglers, boaters, and other river recreation enthusiasts.

The area features a large gravel parking lot and a developed boat ramp leading to the river. Although the ramp is relatively steep, it is commonly used by canoeists and kayakers as a convenient launch or takeout point. Visitors can also enjoy fishing, wildlife observation, or simply relaxing along the riverbank.

Midway River Access is part of a larger network of public access points along the Cedar River. Paddlers may travel downstream from Floyd Bridge Access or begin farther north at Setter’s Landing, with a required portage around the dam in Charles City on longer trips. Native prairie flowers, frogs, grasshoppers, and other wildlife can often be observed around the shoreline.
