CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:

There is no refund.  Please review this policy prior to purchasing your facility reservation.  Please understand that at the time of booking your reservation, you immediately prohibit other people from reserving & utilizing this facility - they therefore go elsewhere to locate a facility for that date.  

Reservations can be rescheduled up to 12 months from the original reservation date, so you will have a credit for 12 months and will be issued a code to use for your future online reservation.

Cancellations or changes must be done 15 days in advance of rental. 

We will observe a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee policy with the following exceptions:

• Accident, serious injury or death of an immediate family member.
• Travel conditions where a substantial risk is required in order to travel such as a winter storm where a travel advisory has been issued.
• We are unable to provide your facility (or like facility) in operable condition for the date of your event

SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL A RESERVATION, YOU WILL FORFEIT 100% OF ALL RESERVATION FEES PAID.  Cancellations cannot be done online.  They must be made by calling the Conservation Office at (515) 832-9570 or email hccb@wmtel.net

• This is an ADA accessible cabin.
• Sleeps a maximum of 13.
• Main floor:  1 bedroom with full size bed, bathroom with shower, kitchen and living room
• Upstairs:  2 bedrooms, bathroom with shower.  Bedroom 1 - full size bed with twin bunk. Bedroom 2 - two queen beds.  Open space - two full size futons
• Heat and air conditioning, ceiling fan
• Full size 18 cubic foot refrigerator, microwave, stove, coffee maker and table with chairs.
• Large covered porch
• Picnic tables and fire ring with grill outside
• WIFI and television with cable TV

With over 4000 acres of state and county public hunting grounds in Hamilton County the Hickory Cabin at Briggs Woods Park provides the perfect base for your Iowa Hunting Expedition.  Booking the cabin puts you within 2 miles from our 417 acre Bauer Slough Public Hunting and surrounded by about 4000 acres of State & County Public Hunting Grounds all in Hamilton County!

• No Hunting allowed within Briggs Woods Park 
• No pets inside the cabin 
• You may transport your unloaded weapons in Briggs Woods Park
• 2 night minimum stay required    

Effective January 1, 2023  County Hotel/Motel TAX will increase from 5% to 7%. 

There is also a fee of a 5% statewide Hotel/Motel Consumer's Use Tax imposed on the rental of recreational cabins, plus a 7% Hamilton County hotel/motel tax for a total of 12% tax

Peak Season - May 1 - October 31 

• Weekdays (Sun-Thurs)      $200/night plus $200 deposit
• Weekends (Fri-Sat)            $250/night plus $200 deposit

Off-Season - November 1 - April 30

• $150/night plus $200 deposit

Day rentals (no overnight stay) - not available June through August 

• $100 per day - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday only

Minimum of a two nights required.  Cabin rental must be in the name of a person 21 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation.

Linen Service:  $200 per rental - includes pillow, sheets, blanket (3 queen, 1 twin, 3 full)

There are NO DISCOUNTS for youth groups, seniors or multiple reservations.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED: This facility requires that an additional deposit check in the amount of $200.00 be mailed to the Conservation Office no later than two weeks from the date you made your reservation.  This deposit is refundable as long as there is no damage and cleaning has been completed as posted on the refrigerator.  It is the responsibility of the

• Park hours are 5:00 am to 10:30 pm.
• Cabins are open year round, weather permitting.
• Check-in time:   4:00 pm - no earlier
• Check-out time:  11:00 am - no later
• Renters must have the facility and area cleaned and exited by scheduled check-out time.

• All laws of the State of Iowa are in effect.
• Must be 21 years old to rent the cabin
• Smoking is prohibited
• Keg beer is prohibited
• Pets are prohibited inside the cabin
• Bachelor and Bachelorette parties are prohibited
• Cabin furniture must remain inside the cabin.
• No cooking with grill, fryer or any device on the deck of the cabin.
• Clean-up of facility and area must be completed no later than scheduled check-out time.
• We have a No Refund policy; however, if you need to cancel your reservation you have one opportunity to reschedule within 12 months. Be sure to read the Facility Contract for details.
