Tucked away under the lush timber canopy of Briggs Woods Park sets the one story Oak Cabin.  This cabin sleeps up to 8 persons with two full bedrooms, a 3/4 bath, full kitchen, living room, heat and air conditioning, televisions.  One room as a queen bed, and the other has one queen bed and one full size bed with a twin bunk.  There is a full-size sofa sleeper in the living room. WIFI and television with cable TV.

The Oak Cabin also features a large covered deck overlooking picturesque Briggs Woods Lake.  A fire ring and charcoal grill sit adjacent to the cabin enhancing the private cabin picnic area.  Throughout Briggs Woods Park you will find numerous wooded hiking trails, our swimming beach, fantastic lake and river fishing and an entertaining playground.   Winding through Briggs Woods Park and along the scenic Boone River  you will find the 5.7 mile paved trail that connects the Park with Webster City.  Gracing the entrance to the park you will find Briggs Woods 18-hole public golf course.  Adding to the considerable recreation opportunities, Briggs Woods Golf Course doubles as our cross country ski course in the off season.

Bedding Linen Service (EXTRA FEE):  $150 per rental - includes pillows, sheets and blankets (2 queen, 2 full and 1 twin)

There is a 10% hotel/motel excise tax in addition to nightly fee

DAMAGE / CLEANING DEPOSIT - $200 Refundable - separate from rental fee

Renter will need to bring:

  • Complete linens, blankets, sleeping bags and pillows. (full size sheets for 2 double beds; twin size sheets for 1 single bed; queen size sheets for 2 beds)
  • Bath linens and toiletries
  • Food and beverages
  • Lawn chairs (cabin furniture not allowed outside cabin) 
  • Firewood (available for purchase in campground also)

CHECK OUT:  11:00 am - no later

CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY:

There is no refund.  Please review this policy prior to purchasing your facility reservation.  Please understand that at the time of booking your reservation, you immediately prohibit other people from reserving & utilizing this facility - they therefore go elsewhere to locate a facility for that date.  

Reservations can be rescheduled up to 12 months from the original reservation date, so you will have a credit for 12 months and will be issued a code to use for your future online reservation. Cancellations or changes must be done 15 days in advance of rental. 

We will observe a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee policy with the following exceptions:

  • Accident, serious injury or death of an immediate family member.
  • Travel conditions where a substantial risk is required in order to travel such as a winter storm where a travel advisory has been issued.
  • We are unable to provide your facility (or like facility) in operable condition for the date of your event

SHOULD YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL A RESERVATION, YOU WILL FORFEIT 100% OF ALL RESERVATION FEES PAID.  Cancellations cannot be done online.  They must be made by calling the Conservation Office at (515) 832-9570 or email hccb@wmtel.net

Fees

Effective January 1, 2023  County Hotel/Motel TAX will increase from 5% to 7%. 

There is also a fee of a 5% statewide Hotel/Motel Consumer's Use Tax imposed on the rental of recreational cabins, plus a 7% Hamilton County hotel/motel tax for a total of 12% tax

Peak Season - May 1 - October 31

  • Weekdays (Sun-Thurs)      $140/night plus $200 deposit (deposit to be mailed to address below)
  • Weekends (Fri-Sat)            $150/night plus $200 deposit (deposit to be mailed to address below)
Off-Season - November 1 - April 30
  • $100 / night plus $200 deposit (deposit to be mailed to address below)
Minimum of a two nights required.  Cabin rental must be in the name of a person 21 years of age or older who will be present at the facility for the full term of the reservation.

There are NO DISCOUNTS for youth groups, seniors or multiple reservations.

DEPOSIT REQUIRED: This facility requires that an additional deposit check in the amount of $200.00 be mailed to the Conservation Office no later than two weeks prior to the event.  This deposit is refundable as long as there is no damage and cleaning has been completed as posted on the refrigerator.  It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that this deposit is provided on time.

Hours of Operation & Seasons

  • Park hours are 5:00 am to 10:30 pm.
  • Cabins are open year round, weather permitting.
  • Check-in time:   4:00 pm - no earlier
  • Check-out time:  11:00 am - no later
  • Renters must have the facility and area cleaned and exited by scheduled check-out time.

Closures

  • Park hours are 5:00 am to 10:30 pm.

Permits

  • 2-night minimum required
  • All laws of the State of Iowa are in effect.
  • Must be 21 years old to rent the cabin
  • Smoking is prohibited
  • Keg beer is prohibited
  • Pets are prohibited inside the cabin
  • Bachelor and Bachelorette parties are prohibited
  • Cabin furniture must remain inside the cabin.
  • No cooking with grill, fryer or any device on the deck of the cabin.
  • Clean-up of facility and area must be completed no later than scheduled check-out time.
  • We have a No Refund policy; however, if you need to cancel your reservation you have one opportunity to reschedule within 12 months. Be sure to read the Facility Contract for details.
