Discover Setchell Area in Steamboat Rock

This area is 38 acres of timber. The area was purchased in 1967 from Ray L. Setchel, a former Conservation officer of the Iowa Conservation Commission (now known as the Iowa Department of Natural Resources).  The area is used extensively by Smoky Ridge Muzzle Loaders (an area buck skinning club), which maintains primitive toilets and camping area for yearly rendezvous. It is also a well hunted area.
