Discover Gibson Recreation Area in Mt. Pleasant

This 240 acre recreation area offers a tremendous diversity of habitats for the outdoor enthusiast. Majestic hardwood forests dominate much of this area but a restored tall grass prairie, a fishing pond, and several marshes can also be found in Gibson. This area is open to public hunting during the appropriate seasons.

Amenities include a shelter house, hiking trails, and a handicap-accessible fishing pier. 

All campers are required to register with the Henry County Conservation Department. For more information contact that conservation office at (319) 986-5067. (2 week max per camping unit). Primitive Camping Only.
