This 240 acre recreation area offers a tremendous diversity of habitats for the outdoor enthusiast. Majestic hardwood forests dominate much of this area but a restored tall grass prairie, a renovated fishing pond, and several marshes can also be found in Gibson. This area is open to public hunting during the appropriate seasons.

Features

Amenities include a shelter house, restroom, hiking trails and a handicap-accessible fishing pier. Overnight camping allowed by permit only. Permit fee is $20.00 per night and can only be obtained in person at the Conservation Department Offices.

Operating Hours & Seasons

This area is open year-round. Camping permits and shelter house reservations are available mid-April through mid-October.
