Codfish Hollow (Hamilton) Hill Prairie Walk


Event Summary

Do you like native plants? Do you want to explore one of the highest quality prairies around? On Wednesday July 1 at 6:00 pm join Ray Hamilton, Jackson County Conservation Natural Resources Ecologist Tony Vorwald, and the Iowa Prairie Network to experience the Codfish Hollow (Hamilton) Hill Prairie. Codfish Hollow Hill Prairie is located across the road from Codfish Hollow Barnstormer’s parking lot 35th St &, 288th Ave, IA 52060. Ray and Tony will share their knowledge of prairie ecology on a guided hike through the prairie. This area has been managed as a local biological preserve for 38 years and is home to a unique and diverse set of native plants. Participants come dressed for the conditions, wear long pants, and bring a bottle of water.
