Natural Dye Workshop

Event Summary

Color surrounds us every where we look. Many colors come from synthetic sources, but did you know the plants around us can also be made into dyes? Learn about some dyes we can find around us, ones we can grow in our garden, and how to dye fabric with them.

We will talk about the basic process of dyeing with natural materials, common plants and food items to dye with, and we will have some dyes to try out. Participants can dye a provided bandana and/or bring something small in to be dyed (a shirt, a ball of yarn, etc).
