Event Summary

Are you interested in camping but feeling apprehensive about how to get started? The idea of camping can be enticing- enjoying the sounds of nature on a warm summer night, stargazing, making smores- but can also feel a bit overwhelming- choosing the right tent, sleeping bag and other equipment, what to wear, etc.

Camping 101 will cover these topics and more at Prairie Creek Recreation Area on Friday, June 5 from 5:30-7pm.

You are encouraged to bring a tent and any other equipment you would like to practice setting up or using. We will also provide equipment for demonstration.

Please dress for the weather as this program is outdoors.

Limited to 15 participants ages 10 and up accompanied by an adult.

Registration is required by June 4.

For more information or to register, contact Jackson County Conservation at (563) 652-3783 or conservation@jacksoncounty.iowa.gov.
