CEC Open House- Bird Friendly Iowa!

Event Summary

Join us for another open house at the Conservation Education Center in Kent Park! In November, we will celebrate Johnson County's recent designation as a Bird Friendly community!

Along with free exploration in the Discovery Room, there will be bird themed activities in the classroom, including:

• 1 pm Guided Beginner Bird Hike with Iowa City Bird Club
• Bird Nest ID and Discovery
• Kent Park Nest Box Monitoring Info
• DIY Window strike deterrents
• Raptor Learning Activities
• Feathers, Skulls, & Other Bird Adaptations
• & More

Outside, we'll have a self-guided bird search activity along the CEC trail.

At 1 pm join Iowa City Bird Club for a beginner bird hike. Binoculars & field guides provided, or bring your own.

The CEC Open House is come-and-go. Stop in anytime between noon and 3:00 p.m.
