This program will be held on-site at Hitchcock Nature Center. In an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19 we have reduced the number of program participants. All participants are asked to maintain recommended social distancing when possible. Staff will be wearing masks when social distancing is not possible, masks are recommended for participants as well.

Hitchcock Nature Center - Join Naturalist & experienced Native Earth Skills practitioner Dustin Clayton at Hitchcock Nature Center on Saturday, July 18th at 11:30 a.m. as he introduces you to the art & craft of the prehistoric jeweler.

This unique event will explore natural materials & ethical interaction with the landscape during a guided hike through Iowa's beautiful Loess Hills at Hitchcock Nature Center followed by a demonstration of jewelry making techniques & styles.

This program is being presented as part of our adult education programming, participants must be 16 & over. Cost for this program is $10.00 per person & includes park admission. Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, July 15th as space is limited, please use the link below to register online.

Participants should note this program will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center & will include pedestrian travel over difficult terrain. This program will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Water bottles, bug spray, & sunblock are all recommended, please dress for the weather & wear appropriate footwear. Students may also find it helpful to bring a notebook & pen for use during the program.
