Evening Walks on the Prairie

Event Summary

Join Dr. Tom Rosburg for a prairie walk at Doolittle Prairie, Story County’s largest prairie remnant. See rare and common prairie flora, and learn about the history and ecology of central Iowa’s prairies. These walks are free and no registration is required.

A creative writing activity will be offered with the August prairie walk. Join local writers Amie Adams and Tara Labovich for a two-part activity before and after the walk. Please arrive by 6:30 and plan to stay until about 8:45 if you would like to participate in this optional activity. All are welcome--prairie enthusiasts and writers of all skill levels.    The prairie walk will take place during its normally scheduled time, 7:00-8:30 PM.

Walks will take place the third Tuesday of the month:

August 19 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM

September 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM (Note: earlier time due to sunset)
