Event Summary

This camp is intended for students who have completed 7th and 8th grades. 

This is an overnight camp that will take place at Maquoketa Caves State Park. Campers will meet at McFarland Park (Ames) and travel to Maquoketa, IA with Story County Conservation (SCC) naturalists.

Are you ready for an adventure? Let’s explore Iowa, underground! Connect with nature, make new friends, and learn outdoor skills with a two-night camping trip to Maquoketa Caves State Park. This camp is all about new experiences, overcoming challenges, and having fun in the outdoors. We will spend our time participating in activities including; camping, cave exploring, fire building, outdoor cooking, nature hiking, and so much more.

SCC will provide tents for campers to share. 

Unless otherwise stated, refunds can be issued less a $5.00 processing fee per event for cancellations up to 2 weeks prior to the start of camp.
