Bring your “young birder” to McFarland Park for a birding adventure. We will target migrating species, like the Palm warbler, and other songbirds likely to be traveling through. Event is open to any “young birder” and their parents/ guardians. Free event, but register in advance at www.iowayoungbirders.org.  

Iowa Young Birders is a non-profit organization that encourages Iowans ages 8-18 to study and enjoy birds and birding through field trips statewide. IAYB is currently working to deploy “Birding Backpacks” throughout Story County and beyond to make birding equipment and information accessible to all Iowans. Learn more or become a member online.
