O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier, Seniors) - All About Bats
NOV 04 2015 11:00 AM
Event Summary
O.W.L.S. programs are designed for "boomers" or older, but anyone can attend. No registration is required unless you would like to attend the optional luncheon that follows the program for just $7.50.
Join Marlene Ehresman, Iowa Wildlife Center as we learn all about Bats. Bats are often portrayed with “fangs” bared, blood dripping from their mouths and bloodshot eyes glowing in the dark. They, like other night-time wild ones, have been given a bad rap in myth and movie. Ehresman will share information about IWC’s work rehabilitating bats, natural history about Iowa’s numerous bat species and myth-busting facts that will provide insight into these remarkable mammals that provide humans with several free environmental services. The program will include a live Big Brown Bat that was raised by Ehresman and is now part of their education program.
Menu: Carved Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Corn with Dinner Roll & Butter, and Pumpkin Pie
Cost
Adults - $7.50
