Description
Jackson County Conservation is seeking two Campground Hosts for the 2026 camping season:
1. One host at South Sabula Lake Park, Sabula, Iowa
2. One host at Spruce Creek Park, Bellevue, Iowa
The campground host is a contract labor and is responsible for the registration of campers, maintaining records using a laptop and spreadsheets, cleaning and upkeep of the shower building and other campground facilities, selling firewood to campers, and other tasks needed to maintain the campground. REQUIREMENTS: Attendant must be at least 18 years of age, possess a current valid driver’s license and successfully complete all background check pre-requisites including driving record, sex offender registry, and criminal history. The campground attendant must have the ability to communicate and interact with people of all ages and cultures and be dependable. Physical exertion is required, including standing, walking, stooping, and lifting (up to 50 pounds). Attendant provides their own camping unit (specifications in job description).
COMPENSATION:
South Sabula Lake Park: Compensation at a daily rate with a 150-day maximum, not to exceed $4,800. No pay will be received for any days the park is closed. The daily rate will be $32 per day.
Spruce Creek Park: Compensation at a daily rate with a 150-day maximum, not to exceed $8,400. No pay will be received for any days the park is closed. The daily rate will be $56 per day.
Free camping for the duration of the contract and on a specified site. Water, electricity, and sewer provided for campground host camper while at the campground.
