North Butler Wilderness Area

The North Butler Wilderness Area is a 150 acre public hunting area featuring upland game habitat.  Enrolled into the Wetland Reserve Program after the 2008 floods, the area was purchased by local chapters of Pheasants Forever using a Habitat Stamp Grant, then donated to the Conservation Board.  Area enhancements planned for the area include food plots and tree and shrub plantings.  These enhancements will help provide excellent habitat throughout the year while providing quality hunting experiences for those who use the area.
