Discover Milo Forest Area in Manchester

The Milo Forest Wildlife Area is located 2 miles southeast of Manchester in Section 3, 9 and 10 of Milo Township (T88N-R5W) Delaware County Iowa.

This property was acquired by the Delaware County Conservation Board in April of 1961. Their acquisition of 100 acres consisted of heavy forest cover with a few small clearings. These small areas were planted to evergreen trees for wildlife cover.

Today the area is managed as a mature timber for woodland wildlife.

The woodland trails provide walk-in access for nature walks, hunting during seasons and access to the Maquoketa River. Hunting is limited to no solid projectile bullets and no discharge of firearms within 200 yards of buildings inhabited by people or domestic livestock.

The natural area amenities include:

  • Hiking Trails
  • Hunting with restrictions
